French Mezzo Soprano
Student of Obin, baritone Douhy; and worked with Carvalho. Debut at the Opera de Paris (June 1, 1888) in the role of Uta in “Sigurd” by Reyer. In 1895, she joined the troupe of the Théâtre de la Monnaie . In Brussels, she created the role of Guilhen in “Fervaal “ by Vincent D'Indy (1897). In 1898, she was at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. She also created the role of Jeannine in “L’Ouragan” by Bruneau 1901 . In 1905 she was at the Royal Opera Covent Garden .She married in 1908 and abandoned the Opera. However, she continued to occur sporadically in concert.Roles included Amneris In “Aida” by Verdi , Edwige of” William Tell” , the Bohemian in “ Rigoletto” by Verdi .
