Swedish Bass
Student_ of Julius Gunther in Stockholm. Debut as Sarastro '"The Magic Flute" in 1854.Engaged at the Royal Opera Stockhol in 1856. Studied singing in Paris 1857-1859 with tenor Gilbert Duprez.Returned and remained at Royal Opera Stockholm. He and his soprano wife Hedwig Harling (1841-1887) were responsible for the Royal Opera School 1877-1886.He was also engaged as the Director of Royal Opera.He retired in 1888
