Caldeirão - ancient volcanic crater.
It was the result of the collapse of a volcanic cone. The hollow is filled with two lagoons, with a few islets and peninsulas, surrounded by peat. Caldeirão is the highlight of Corvo Island, Azores, and this image was taken from Monte Gordo Viewpoint.
