Panorama from Monte Gordo Viewpoint, at north of Corvo Island, Azores. Peat can be seen on the foreground and crests on the background can be as high as 720 metres, the highest altitude in the island.

It was the result of the collapse of a volcanic cone. The hollow is filled with two lagoons, with a few islets and peninsulas, surrounded by peat. Caldeirão is the highlight of Corvo Island, Azores, and this image was taken from Monte Gordo Viewpoint.
