Great Blue Heron 3


For the Saturday Self-challenge: foreground bokeh. In the PIP is another photo of the same bird in the same place. I found this one on a pond near our house. Although they are not rare in our area, this is the first time I had seen one. I was particularly surprised to see it in the city.

It's always such a treat to see these big birds.
Out of focus foreground gives feeling like hiding to catch the bird.
Herons adapt well to towns as long there are ponds or rivers with fish. We have quite a few of them nesting (and anglers complaining;-)
