The Scientist had just left her laboratory, she could no longer maintain the deep concentration required to examine the minute particles of protoplasm that she had puzzled over for most of the afternoon. Her search today, like many of the previous, had been frustrating, too many false starts. Dark shapes and shadows were interfering with her pursuit of the granular truth that she had been seeking for years. There must be a key to it somewhere in the frame.
