Notation: So far, this is the only image of St. James Park that I have run across.

The City of Winnipeg only began purchasing lands for public parks in 1893. In 1894, 6 acres of land at Portage Avenue and Home Street were purchased for the site of St. James Park. In 1966 it was renamed Vimy Ridge Memorial Park.

Another one of those tower things ... there is one in my shot of that park in Crescentwood as well.
