Wenn der Mond seinen erdnächsten Punkt erreicht hat, spricht man von einem Supermond. Dabei kann es sich sowohl um einen Neu- als auch einen Vollmond handeln. Letzteres ist nun wieder der Fall: Zwischen dem 17. und 21. Februar 2019 befindet sich der Mond in seiner Vollmondphase. Zudem ist er der Erde am Dienstag, 19. Februar am nächsten.

Ein Super-Vollmond ist besonders groß am Himmel zu sehen und strahlt heller als normalerweise. Nicht nur für Hobby-Astronomen bieten sich in den folgenden Tagen also ein Naturspektakel und zahlreiche Fotomotive.
