Anreiz für dieses Kunstwerk gab Alfred Hrdlicka die Geschichte des gequälten Verlierers Marsyas aus der griechischen Mythologie. Seit dem 8. Mai 2008 ziert den Stauffenberg‐Platz die Bronze‐Skulptur „Marsyas I“. Schon 1962 ließ Hrdlicka die Marmorskulptur von Alfred Zöttl in Bronze gießen.

Merci bien, Jean Pierre! There is also a memorial to victims of the Nazi terror. The Hrdlicka sculptures (there are two others) were added later but they complete the ensemble.
