The King David statue (1663) used to support the former baroque organ loft in Marktkirche



2,75m high Quedlinburg Roland is made from sandstone and is one of the oldest surviving Roland statues, originating from the early 15th century. It symbolizes the town privileges of a medieval city.

Ludwig Jahn ist ein Ossi durch und durch :-)!
In Freyburg (Unstrut, westlich von Leipzig) geboren, Gymnasium in Salzwedel (Altmark) und lehrte an verschiedenen Unis, wie Halle, Brandenburg, Berlin oder Frankfurt (Oder). Der war bei uns sehr berühmt, viele Turnhallen und Stadien wurden nach ihm benannt. In Berlin gab es zB. den Ludwig Jahn Sportpark, wo Stasi Mielkes BFC Dynamo spielte
