I've just been looking at your older photos of Iceland, Gudrun. This is an amazing place. At least The Guardian finally managed to say something about the area - and I am even later to acknowledge it. ;-)

Thank you so much, Amelia! In good weather this must be utterly beautiful, as it was, we hardly saw anything of the East Fjords. Instead we had coffee and homemades cakes in the café near the harbour- the village ladies bake them!
The travel section is one of the weaker parts of the Guardian, too many sponsored articles;-)
