Lincoln: former Lincolnshire Motor Company premises, Brayford 2010-05-10

Former garage and car showroom, by D. Clarke Hall, Scorer and Bright; the engineer was Hajnal Konyi. Became the library headquarters and now partly restaurants, partly empty. Scorer evidently specialized in roof structures of this type, and has his own Flickr group. Dated 1956 in The Buildings of England but evidently approaching completion only in the summer of 1959: www.flickr.com/photos/allhails/3038267504/ . The multi-storey car park behind is a later design by Sam Scorer, dating from 1973-4 [thanks to alexbancroft for pointing this out - see comment below].
