We heard about a ghost town right here in the SF Bay Area and set out to find it on foot.
Drawbridge (02)
Down in the south bay among all the salt ponds, Drawbridge was an island community with its heyday in the early 1900's.
Drawbridge (03)
No luck, this approch from the northeast near Fremont is blocked.
Drawbridge (04)
We decided not to trespass and would try again from the south someday.

Then we learned that the ACE commuter train which passes over the island has a special run a few times a year that is exclusively for viewing Drawbridge.
Drawbridge (06)
Coming into the north end of the island.
Drawbridge (07)
The train conveniently slows and stops for you in town, but you cannot leave the train.
