Nikon D700 and AF Zoom-Nikkor 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5, much cropped, converted to B&W. Tiny file. Need to get closer (least expensive option), use telephoto (tried that with no notable success) , or buy more megapixels (very expensive option).

I’ve just been studying the Pre Raphaelite art in the church of St Martin-on-the-Hill, Scarborough. These two would fit in perfectly with some of the immortalised models, wives and mistresses, Fanny Cornforth and Annie Miller come to mind.

The Pre-Raphaelite fellows were very energetic. There was a good deal of trespassing going on. The subjects they immortalised seemed to be characterised by long wavy hair, like that worn by the girls in my picture. But if Rossetti were to somehow return to paint them, their appearance might be subtly altered to embrace pronounced lips, arms, and lengthened necks. In some of the paintings you would scarcely believe they had been made from life. The website below might interest you:
