Things I have Learned Concerning the Photography of Snowdrops

Things I have learned concerning the photography of snowdrops:
Snowdrops grow in clusters. If the front is in focus, the back probably won't be. You need a small aperture to get the necessary depth of field.
You can lie out on the ground to get composition and focus right. I didn't. I knelt on a plastic bag and held the camera close to the ground. I pointed the lens towards the snowdrops and set the focus to the distance I guessed was right.
I used a fast shutter speed and a wide aperture. This was almost as wrong as it was possible to be.
I don't think photographs of snowdrops are very interesting anyway. I only came here for a cup of coffee and a cheese scone.

If you continue to write your Beginners Guide to Photography in this style I shall pre-book several copies. The Compleat Angler comes to mind, which I haven’t read, so I’m probably writing compleat nonsense.

I am working (that may not be exactly the right word) on An Occasional Gourmet's Guide to Cheese Scones in Sundry Catering Establishments Along the A350. I couldn't care less about photography. That's just a front.

The proportion of mustard in the dough mix can vary quite a bit. There is seldom sufficient cheese in the mix. The rule of thumb is to double whatever quantity of cheese is specified in the recipe. We probably need to set up a cheese scone appreciation group, but I'm preoccupied in planning the Magnet Joinery project. So busy.

William Burroughs wrote a similar sort of book: Junkie. A good read, but it sounds like you are going to have more detail in mixing the ingredients, which readers will appreciate. I look forward to your depictions of the catering establishments.

On your advice I have abandoned the idea of a Cheese Scone Appreciation Group. What could possibly be learned from a photograph of a cheese scone? I may have been influenced by a group in Ripponden known as The Old Bridge Inn Pork Pie Appreciation Society.
