Pick of the Month

An old edition of the ‘Radio Times’ from 1966, open at a page where the broadcaster Joan Bakewell appears alongside companions of the Late Night Line-Up team who have collectively been chosen to present a new programme called ‘Pick of the Month’. Late Night Line-Up was a pioneering British television discussion programme broadcast on BBC2 between 1964 and 1972.
Joan Bakewell was born Joan Dawson Rowlands in Stockport and was head girl at Stockport High School for Girls. She went to Newnham College, Cambridge. I am not sure why this is interesting, nor am I sure why people are photographed with their chin in their hand.
Joan Bakewell lives alone and though she mostly enjoys drinking with friends, she will also drink when she is on her own. www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19508585 She did not like being described by the late Frank Muir as ‘ the thinking man's crumpet’. She is now 81 years of age.
Good luck to you, Joan Bakewell.
