I recently caught this in the corner of my eye as I drove past this alley, and I'm glad I circled back for a closer look. The pole even has 3 unused glass spools on the backside! However, there's a catch...(see next photo...)
Sigh...as I've mentioned before, for each Westy I now find, at least one other one somewhere disappears. The day after I found that other crossarm bank, I discovered that the one shown here in Medway has since been replaced by a regular transformer bank! Still a HUGE letdown!
A lineup of backyard poles put up long ago during the good ol' days. This construction spec seemed to be very typical for single-phase transformer poles when the primary was mounted on a ridge pin.
A blast from the past...and yet another addition to The Powerline Graveyard. The entire pole was replaced. No more amber glass bushing.
However, a bigger loss in town that's even more disappointing is this: www.fox19.com/2020/03/20/crews-battle-large-fire-blanchester
The block of buildings has since been razed. I remember visiting that antique shop at the corner and admiring the building's architecture...
A 2016 photo. I'm disappointed to say that this neat setup has since been replaced by a boring pad mount! However, despite appearances, that building is still there.
