Thank you, Smiley! The final addition to the piece was that 1920s head, after trying dozens of other images - that one just seemed right.

Yes, the head seems just right, as though she contains the scene . Some kind of melding...a Scott Fitzgerald cross-fertilised with Salammbo ( I’ve never read it, but always imagined a scene like this.)
