A ford in season
A ford on the Fenton.
Just beyond the treeline are some large rocks, about where a bridge crossed the head of a mill pond in the early 1740s. The route follows a Shetucket/Wabaquaset path and ford that crosses the Fenton to branch east and south, indicated by several surveys from the 1740s, 50s and 60s. The Shetucket/Wabaquaset path was a major north-south route following various waterways.
