French pizze differ clearly from the well known Italian species, as French chefs like to create something new. This evening I tried a pizza named "La Bourguignonne". Crème fraîche, Mozzarella, Escargots de Bourgogne, Beurre persillé Fresh cream, Mozzarella, Burgundy smails, Parsley butter

St. Georg is a small restaurant in Agrums, part of Prad am Stilfserjoch, where delicious and really hearty dishes are offered. We had "Speckknoedel Suppe", "Schlutzkrapfen" and (seen here) "Hirschpfeffer mit Rotkohl und Knoedel", what is venison stew with red cabbage and dumplings.

Stürmer is a large butchery, that has roadside tables in front of the shop and offers hearty lunches. Here is "Sauerbraten" with potato dumplings and apple sauce. Sauerbraten is a pot roast. The meat is marinated for several days in a mixture of vinegar, water, herbs, and spices, to tenderize it. It is then prepared ( in the Rhineland) with raisins and sometimes sugar beet syrup. www.metzgereistuermer.de/
