São Brissos

São Brissos is a small "chapelanta". It is the transformation of a prehistoric dolmen into a Christian place of worship.
The megalithic structure was probably converted into a chapel in the 17th century. The vestibule of the chapel was added to the four supporting stones of a large anta and to the huge capstone. Both the anta and the chapel have a rather unusual south-west orientation.
