Ermsleben - Konradsburg

The castle was already mentioned in the 11th century as the ancestral seat of the Lords of Konradsburg. According to legend, Egino von Konradsburg killed the Count of Ballenstedt and wanted to do penance, which is why he gave the castle to the Benedictines. The castle became a Benedictine abbey and was later taken over by the Carthusians. The end of the monastery began in 1525 when it was plundered during the Peasants' War. In the following centuries, the Konradsburg served as a residential and commercial building.
