Beszowa - Kościół pw. śś. Piotra i Pawła

The Church of St. Peter and Paul was founded in 1407 by the Bishop of Poznań, as this was his home village. In 1421 he donated the church to the Pauline Fathers (also known as the "Order of St. Paul, the First Hermit"), an order founded in the 13th century.
The three-nave brick basilica was finally consecrated in 1616. In the 18th century, the monastery gradually lost its importance and the condition of the monastery buildings deteriorated. In 1819 Beszowa Monastery, like many others, was dissolved. Only Hilarion Bobrowski, the then Galician provincial superior, remained in the monastery as a parish priest. The condition of the church buildings was still bad, the monastery was ruined, and the church had to be closed after part of the roof collapsed and the vault of the northern nave was destroyed.
At that time, the parish priests took over the former monastery building to convert it into a rectory. The buildings were severely damaged during the war in 1944 when the roof and windows of the church were destroyed and the organ and many other elements of the interior were damaged.
The wooden bell tower is separated from the Gothic church. Just like in Niekrasów.
