Racines - Saint-Éloi

Racines - Saint-Éloi
The nave (in the back) dates to the late 11th century, while the part seen in the foreground was added within the 16th century. This kind of wooden churches with bell towers is typical for the area around Troyes. The old church (nave) may have had two apses and a double patronage in medieval times: Saint Eloi and Saint John the Baptist.

Nicole Merdrignac, kiiti, Alexander Prolygin and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo
