Zadar - Archaeological Museum
Zadar´s "Arheoloski Muzej", located next to the Roman Forum and St. Donatus holds an incredible collection of medieval artefacts.

This gable is important, as the name of the Croatian Prince Branimir (879-892) is inscribed. The name of the Croats is written here for the first time.

, have particularly liked this photo

All information I have about is from a leaflet I got in Zadar, so I don´t know. The strong political importance if this inscription grew after the breakup of Yugoslavia and the following war upto 1995.

I hesitated very long, but in 2009 followed a "family saga".

Since the late 1960s my parents had visited a town on the coast south of Zadar and spent their two weeks holidays there for about 15 years. They had friends there. I wanted to see the places and the bays and the houses, maybe even meet the old friends... Actually all the people they had known (and I had photos of) either had died or had left the country. So I took photographs of graves rather than of people. I did have interesting and sometimes very controversy talks. Nothing was easy as soon as it got personal...

One day, I climbed over a fence to approach a small Romanesque chapel. On my way back I saw the sign "Stay out! Landmines!"
