Meulan-en-Yvelines - Saint-Nicolas

As the new Gothic architecture in Northern France and Paris was such a striking success, many of the small Romanesque churches got at least a Gothic chancel or choir.

During the restauration works in the 19th century a Romanesque tympanum was found under the floor of the nave. The tympanum now is on display - inside the church, that was - locked.
