Simon. Eastbourne. 1981
This is a snap of fellow student, Simon, taken during the year 1981, during my college days at Eastbourne College of Art and Design (Furness Road Annex). In the background are some posters, made by screen printing. We were studying Photography for three years between 1981–1984.
Antonio Pelligrino and Neil. c.1982
Fellow Photographic students, Antonio (Tony) Pelligrino and Neil, probably near Furness Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex. We were all studying for a SIAD Diploma (Society of Industrial Artists and Designers) from September 1981–July 1984.

Darkroom in the snow c.1980
This is only a shed but, for many years, this was my personal darkroom. It had its own power supply for the MPP enlarger (medium format and 35mm), with Ross 80mm enlarging lens. A piece of black plastic covered the window. Unfortunately, the shed wasn't light-proof, so I still had to wait for darkness to fall, before I could my outside darkroom.
Girl with 270 million old rock

This is a new scan (this time from an Imacon scanner) of the Wave Rock in Hyden, Western Australia. This image was taken early morning, about 7am, just as sun was rising. I set my Yashica Mat-124g on a tripod and, just as I was ready to photograph, this young girl walked into the picture. She gives a sense of scale to this imposing rock.
Swan River, Perth
I do like to shoot directly into the sun, as the results are often quite atmospheric. Two people enjoy the view of the Swan River as the sun sits low on the horizon.

Snow and the beanstalks. c.1980
Now that I am living in sunny Australia, this snow picture brings back fond memories. It shows snow covering the back garden of our home in Cam, Gloucestershire, in about the year 1980.
Kings Square, Gloucester. c.1980
This peaceful scene was photographed in the English city of of Gloucester in about 1980. Today, the water features have gone; unfortunately Kings Square now looks quite barren.
Skyfall

Western Australia has some spectacular sunsets during the summer months. This photo made in June 2012.
Portrait of a mum-to-be. 1961
I like this portrait: with its strong diagonal lines, eye contact with the photographer, out of focus background, and bygone atmosphere. Then again I might be a bit biased as the subject is my mother, Ida Cornick, when she was a bit younger (the year is 1961) and the photographer is my father, Michael Cornick. The setting is most probably in the county of Somerset, England.

Fun at the seaside
These people are certainly having fun on the beach.
This image was probably taken about fifty years ago, somewhere in the UK. The photo was part of a bundle of old images that I bought from eBay a few years ago.

Sailing in Sydney Harbour
Sydney Harbour is the ideal place to practice sailing. It is sheltered and it is huge, with 200 miles of coastline inside the harbour.

Fire Bell. 24/365
This 1899 Fire Bell is located outside of the old Central Fire Station in Murray Street, Perth. This was the first purpose-built fire station in Western Australia.
"Footsteps in Time." 23/365

This sculpture commemorates the 175th anniversary of Western Australia. The St Martins Centre was the site of the first businessman's club of WA.

Cuckoo in the nest. 21/365

Well, not really a cuckoo, but an ancient flute makes home in this birdcage.
