Midnight

OK, both Noon and Midnight were sketches I made at a life drawing session, with Alaska willow charcoal (Made from willows in my yard) on 11 by 14 inch sketch paper. I temporarily 'fixed the charcoal with hair spray, then coated the back with linseed oil, which passed through the paper, permanently locking the charcoal to the paper and leaving the paper somewhat translucent. I then painted the back side of the paper with acrylics, the acrylic colors showing through. Last I coated the front with spar varnish adding a sharp sparkle.
Hey, I'm happy with it!
