test

test
OK, some 50 years ago I made a raw moose hide (with the fur on) sheath for my hunting rifle. It served me quite well over the years, the rigidity of the raw hide and the resiliency of the fur protected it quite well on sleds, snow machines, canoes, river boats, 4 wheelers and in the back of the truck.

I haven't used it in around 10 years and, looking at it gathering dust, I wondered how moose hair would work in paint brushes.

So! I pulled some hair, lined them up, bound them & using some plastic tubing for a quick and dirty ferrule, attached them to a handle. Since I don't know how well the moose hair with hold up to painting, this is a rough test. If it works I suspect I'll make some nicer moose hair brushes.
