Iced and snowed
Waiting for
Morning blues
Studies
Rush Hour
Firefly
Plowing a little snow
In the grass
Tuesday morning blue
Elegant
Before the storm
Louise is back
now
Maybe not
in the noon day sun
sharper image
minus 38 and falling
The things that happen when no one is there to see
Breathless
Then
Stark
Beware
The powers of light and starkness
The Tomb of Shiyoku
quiet
Exceptance
Down by the river side
Louise knows
snowflakes
dragon
Keeping up with the times
The Striker!
Caught!
This season, alas, has passed.
After the dance
Mamma he's taking our picture!!
Dawn light
Lasting memories
Ice on the Chena
Wonder what happened
Hunkered down for winter
By the open fire
Let's have a big smile now
by moonlight
Cool!

Iced

Back on 24 October I posted a picture here of ice clumps floating down the Chena River seen from the edge of my property. At the time I noted it wouldn't be too long before the river froze over.
Well, Marri , in the comments, asked that I post one when the river was iced all the way across. So! Marri, my friend here it is! As you can see there's an open lead of un-iced water against the far back but it won't be long before that's covered as well.
OK the ice is still a bit thin to drive across but it will soon be much much thicker.
By the Way, The route of the Yukon Quest, the 1000 (1600 KM) mile dog sled race from Fairbanks, Alaska to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada, passes along the river right here. On the 1'st of February there will be at least 18 dog teams mushing along the river ice past the spot were I took this picture.
Here a link if you want to know more about the race: www.yukonquest.com
