High Noon in the North Country!

High noon in the north country in mid-December!
In this shot the sun is directly south, behind me, at it's zenith. It's reached it's highest point in our mid-December sky, but is still so low that it only highlights the tops of the trees across the river, never hitting the snow in front of me.
Now, today, we have only 3 hours and 43 minute between sunrise and sunset but…
Soon we'll be over the hump, pass the winter solstice, and each day will be longer and longer!
