Midnight Sunset

3 nights ago, around midnight, I was driving one of my guests to the airport to catch her plane home to Japan. The sky, as the sun was setting, happened to be quite cloudy, dark above, a bright red glow at the lower edge with a small strip of very intense blue at the bottom. Quite surreal. The sun set that night at 11:57 p.m., by the way.
