This series of images shows a bit of what I do when painting on acetate so the painting is viewed from the reverse side, through the acetate.
The first image shows the shapes I want to paint blocked in and the first layer of color added.
The second image is 8 or 9 layers of color added, once I start I will not know how the painting turns out until all layers have been added, allowed to dry and the painting removed from the easel and support board and turned over.
At the stage I add one more last layer, gesso. Since that's just white paint I didn't bother to take a photo of that stage.
Last is the finished picture, as we're looking through the acetate note that this image is reversed compared to the first image, as we are looking at it from the other side.
