med - Polio in the USA, 1910 to 2019

The Polio vaccine was introduced in 1955, it took a few years - a decade, maybe - for the roll-out to be sufficiently widespread to clear enough of the population.
I really don't want to see wards with dozens of "iron lungs" ever again ...
