GE2024 - voter turnout UK elections

GE2024 - voter turnout UK elections
Sadly, the turnout in 2024 was the second lowest since 1885. [60% and 59.4% in 2001].
Various reasons have been suggested as the cause of this level of voter apathy - one suggestion is that many tory supporters stayed at home, or voted reform.

The senior clerk at my polling station said that it was on trend for the usual 70-75% turnout, as a whole my constituency had 68% with just over 51,000 votes cast - about 8% above the national average for 2024.

Personally, I have voted in all the General Elections, referenda and local / PCC elections I could, since I reached voting age.
I consider it important to exercise my right to vote, even if my chosen candidate / party has little chance of actually wining - although, this time, he did win.
