Finally found our way over to Douglas Lifeboat Station - it is on the far side, nearly in the oil terminal and away from the main buildings, marina & ferry terminal. One of five RNLI stations on the Isle Of Man.
The boathouse had a slipway launched "Tyne" Class All Weather Boat between 1988 & 2018 named after Sir William Hillary [47-032]. This was replaced by the Mersey "Marine Engineer" [12-12] in 2018, which had previously been based at Bridlington.

StoneRoad2013 club has replied to Christa1004 clubAlthough a "deep water" channel is kept dredged for the lifeboat that extends almost to the end of the slipway ...
HFF and a good weekend to you
I have wanted to see this station ever since I started fundraising for the RNLI because of the association with Sir William Hillary. [I have a few other images on that subject]
The swans followed us along, hoping we had some food for them - one of the fishermen walking out to the pier did have something - and I came back with a few bits the following day (saved from my dinner).
