No, I don't like barbed wire, either. I was given to understand that the barbed wire - and only a couple of strands - was there temporarily. The charity that runs the place were intending to extend the wooden fence, but didn't have the funds at that point. I suspect due to some other more pressing expenditure at the time.

Oh, very sweet-tempered indeed. He worked on the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway before retiring. These "Trammers" are very tolerant of tourists and anyone wanting to pat them.
