O&S - ungated crossing sign

Standard UK road sign for an ungated level crossing, but apart from a few main line excursions / tours and on the heritage / preserved lines, the UK hasn't had steam engines since 1968 !

Ja, teilweise sind Straßenschilder wirklich etwas seltsam. Ich dachte ja bis vor kurzen, die seien im Sinne der Europäischen Union vereinheitlicht worden, musste mich aber eines besseren belehren lassen - da hat jedes Land nach wie vor seine eigenen Schilder... Und zwar nicht nur, was den Font oder so angeht...

I've often thought the same about level crossing advance warning signs here in Australia. Steam lasted about 5 years longer here. Signs like my icon are still used for advanced warning. At the level crossings a basic 'stop' or 'give way' have been replaced by www.ipernity.com/doc/grahamh/24026681 in the last 5 years.
