It is a called a spoonbill Therese .. this one is carrying nesting material. www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/wildlife-guides/bird-a-z/spoonbillal.

Wow it's still making nests - surely it's a bit late in the year for that?

They seem to pick up sticks often I think they already have their nests so what they do with the sticks is a mystery.
