At Sedlec, in Czech Republic, in the Cemetery Church of All Saints there is an ossuary (human bone depository) that contains thousands of relics of plague victims. In the late eighteenth century, a local woodcarver was given permission to create skeletal decorations from the ossuary deposits, resulting in a dramatic and little known memorial to the Black Death.
