RAF Fairford 09/06/1984.
This was the first KC-135A to be built and was rolled out at Renton on 18/07/1956.
It first flew on 31/08/1956 and was eventually delivered to the Air Force in July 1960.
During 1961 it was converted to an Airborne Command Post (EC-135K) and was also used as a VIP transport using the fixed call sign "Ace 01".
Afrer 35 years of service it was retired in October 1996 is preserved at McConnell AFB, Kansas.
