One of the vessels owned by Union Castle Line. Built by Swan Hunter in Wallsend in 1965 and scrapped in 1984. Seen here in Southampton Western Docks.

A shame indeed. Probably the traffic for which it was built for dried up, or became a victim of the container revolution, or a mixture of both.
