HFF Great Central Railway Quorn Leicestershire 19th August 2023
At the Railways at Work event we were rostered on Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48305. Our second trip was on the pick-up goods to Quorn where we reversed into the yard leaving the goods rake to be "loaded/unloaded" by the station staff.

After a while we pulled forward onto the turntable to pose for photographs where Al is happily doing that!

HFF Pete. The designer must have had a sense of humour, driving wheel diameter of 4'8.5". The loco type seems to have been a good performer.

The double arrow came with the diesels/electrics. Steam locos carried logos like this in the 1950s.

A very nice picture, which I like very much!
Wonderful and interesting composition, and a difficult one to make work, but the driver looking out really makes it. (Well, I guess he is the driver, even though on the fireman's side, as you are the fireman!)
