Featured on this September 1924 cover was Gloria Foy, a Vaudevillian of considerable talent. In November of that same year, Foy landed the starring role in the musical comedy Betty Lee.

Art and Life Magazine was published by Lockwood Studios, an art school located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Most issues feature art and illustration by correspondence students and aspiring artists, as well as anatomical studies and other features. The covers occasionally featured actors and actresses of the day – some whose names endure, and others lost in time.
