Coleridge beast

This beast is one of the fine decorative pieces of terracotta on the Grade II listed Coleridge Chambers, 175-177 Corporation St, Birmingham. The building appears to have been constructed between 1887 and 1904. Sadly, as with most of the terracotta architecture in Birmingham, it has been treated with brick acid and badly damaged.
