Slate roofs

St Winifrede's New Hall of 1895 in Holywell, Flintshire has this delightful slate decoration of the roofs. I am advised regarding the lettering that A M D G = Ad majórem Dei glóriam - For the greater glory of God. W V M could be Winefride Virginem Martyris?
