21 & 22 Fawcett Street, Sunderland

Corder House and Sydenham House were built as a cafe, shop and offices between 1889 and 1891. The architect was Frank Caws and the contractors David and John Rankin. The terracotta is by J C Edwards of Ruabon. An eclectic mixture of Gothic and Baroque/Flemish styles. I was not surprised to learn that Frank Caws had his own office in these buildings.
