Somersault

A bit of history from 1977. Tarboat used to be young, and capable of turning somersaults at the tiller of the tarboat. I suspect that if I tried this today I would end up falling in the cut. Photo taken by the future Mrs Tarboat from the fore end of the butty which can be seen to be under tow using cross-straps. We were heading for the Thames via the Oxford Canal and I think this was taken somewhere towards Thrupp. The chimney extension is a piece of history too, having been made from an empty Party Four can.
