Trekking

This photo was shot over 35 years ago in an alpine valley atop Mt. Mulanje in the southern area of Africa's Great Rift Valley on the border of Malawi and Moçambique. I was trekking solo between Thuchila Hut and Sombani Hut, tiny mountain shelters built for trekkers. Rising on the horizon are Nandalana Peak 2,592 and Khuto Peak, 2,758 meters, several of the dozen or so granite pinnacles within this mountain massif.
A project restoring faded and damaged photos such as this by a process of scanning negatives and careful utilization of digital tools is responsible for a renewal of my interest in film photography.
Nostalgia can be a fruitful exercise.
This image came from a 135 Kodak negative shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC camera, scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 photo scanner and digitally restored with Photoshop.
