Yashica ELECTRO 35CC
My Yashica was quite a globe trotter. I was happy to accompany it on overland journeys in many parts of the world, long ago in another lifetime.
It still have this great camera. I works perfectly.

In the southern area of the Great Rift Valley on the Malawi border with Moçambique is the highest area in southern Africa. It is actual an enormous (25km diameter) granite massif with a dozen peaks, the highest reaching approximately 3,000m+. Pictured in the background is Chambe Peak 2,557 meters.
There are a series of huts where camping is allowed--all food must be packed in by foot. In the morning one can look over the tops of clouds gathered in the Great Rift Valley below. Those clouds rise into the highlands by afternoon, usually resulting in rain by early evening.
This image came from three old 35mm negatives shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC camera, scanned by an HP Scanjet 5470c, merged and restored using multiple Photoshop operations.

My memory of this place is faded like the photo, taken long ago.

Cordillera Blanca

|
-An Andean alpine valley with sheer cliff faces overlooked by Nevado Hauntsan, 6200m., where my party of 3 camped for the night. We were on a 4-day trek from Olleros to Chavín, Peru. I began my alpine training for treks like this with a friend, scaling the heights of El Tepozteco near Tepoztlán, México, many months before.
I lost the 35mm Agfa negatives of this shoot and discovered a faded print in my old photo travel-journal dating back to 1975. Using an HP Scanjet 5470c I was able render a digital image which I carefully restored as best I could with multiple Photoshop operations.
Mekong River Golden Triangle

A minor crossing of the Mekong River from Laos to Thailand in the Golden Triangle. I flew Royal Laotian Airways (consisting of a single DC3 aircraft) into Ban Hat Tai from Luang Prabang. Travelers continued into Thailand crossing the Mekong River by small wooden boats and then bus to the nearest major town, Chiang Rai. It was a grand adventure.

Yo de inmediato cumplido!I
Sheltering from the heat of midday near Palenque Ruins I ran into this very odd character. He was a Dutch traveller--very much a Bohemian type of fellow, who owned a quite social macaw. The bird had a taste for Pepsi Cola. Shortly after this photo was taken the macaw hopped over to me and latched it's beak onto my earlobe. His owner said to me, "Give him a sip of your Pepsi if you want your ear back. . . " I immediately complied!
This photo was taken by a Yashica Electro 35CC rangefinder film camera and COLOR-YASHINON DX 1:1.8 f=35mm lens with a Pro 52mm (UV) Japan filter using Kodak Ektachrome-X slide film, the positive transparency scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 scanner and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
